The Casas Rio Chiquito Spanish Language Program incorporates formal Spanish classes with language immersion through the home-stay program. The formal lessons are planned to balance grammatical aspects of the Spanish language with tools and resources for practice. These resources are distributed in the first class and are used systematically throughout the course, so you have the basic tools you need to begin conversing on the first day.
At the root of the experience that your instructors have acquired from teaching dozens of students of different nationalities is that students absorb Spanish more quickly when they don’t use English or their native tongue. As much as possible during the Casas Rio Chiquito classes, your instructor will avoid the use of English and translations. Don’t worry about this detracting from the Cultivating Communities program overall. The rest of the program can be entirely translated, entirely in Spanish, or somewhere in between.
Cultivating Communities programs incorporate two hours of formal Spanish classes daily, except on weekends, providing a total of 20 hours of Spanish in the two-week program and 40 hours for the one-month program. You may be learning in a group, or by yourself, depending on the number of other participants at the time and their level of Spanish. If you are interested in a more intensive Spanish learning experience, extra classes can be booked during your free time, or contact us to discuss other alternatives.
