Program Costs and How Your Money is Used

Fair Trade is one concept that speaks of economic and often agricultural or environmental sustainability.  Currently, global trade favours large agribusinesses that can provide the lowest prices on commodities, like sugar and coffee.  The lowest price however, often comes with the hidden high price tag of environmental degradation and unreasonably puny wages for workers.  With that in mind, we consulted with our partners about how much they would charge to work with and teach our participants, and we are satisfied that we are both charging and paying a fair price for the services provided in our programs.  Below is a breakdown of how your hard earned dinero is dispersed.  Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you want more information.

Program Fee: $1265.00 CDN Program Fee: $1265.00 CDN

The program fee includes accommodation, three meals a day and some snacks, Spanish classes (two hours daily), in-country facilitation, transportation, usually by local bus, and park entrance and tour fees are included.  The program fee provides employment for our partners and subsidizes or fully covers the cost of materials needed for their projects.

A non-refundable administration fee of $250.00 CDN is due when you register for a Cultivating Communities program.  The remaining $1015.00 CDN is due four weeks before the start of your chosen program.  The registration fee and remaining program fee can be paid online with a credit card or your PayPal account, or by cheque or money order through the mail.
